On the occasion of Professor Dan Ariely who will receive an honorary doctorate from Erasmus University Rotterdam on the university’s birthday (Dies Natalis), we are inviting you to a unique business seminar on the evening of Monday 7 November organised by Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
Content
Dan Ariely will engage in an interactive discussion about how the principles of behavioural economics can help us gain insights in some of our irrational tendencies, specifically the mechanisms at work behind dishonest behaviour. This event offers you the exceptional opportunity to understand the issues companies face when it comes to morality and honesty, e.g. in client and supplier relationships. The implications of his research are far reaching and will help you to better understand financial crises, regulations, and day-to-day misbehaviours.
About Dan Ariely
Dan Ariely is the James B. Duke Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Economics at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and is the founder of The Center for Advanced Hindsight and also the co-founder of BEworks. He is a most engaging expert in applying behavioural economics to business and policy. His experiments involve a wide range of topics associated with behavioural economics, such as dishonesty, money management, and decision-making in various industries. Ariely is the author of Predictably Irrational, The Upside of Irrationality, and The Honest Truth About Dishonesty, all bestsellers in The New York Times. He has a bi-weekly advice column in The Wall Street Journal called “Ask Ariely” and his TED talks have been watched more than seven million times. In 2013, Bloomberg recognised Dan as one of Top 50 most influential thinkers.
