This symposium emphasizes the development of Open Data at public institutions such as government, public organizations, but also companies.

However not only large institutions find advantage at Open Data. Also the designers, programmers and engineers are being encouraged to develop practical, useful but also fun and interesting applications of data, information and knowledge.

Call the Witness is a project of the Roma Pavilion, which takes place as a Collateral Event in the framework of the 54th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia 2011.

A makeshift exhibition evolving over the course of the Venice Biennale preview days through the flux of live “testimonies”— works of art, performances, talks, and conversations by and with artists, thinkers, and politicians—Call the Witness considers the situation of the Roma and Roma art as emblematic of a world filled with inequality and oppression today, and in solidarity with the largest minority in Europe speculates about another, hopeful future. Read More

‘Verbinden & Inspireren’

Brabant Academy nodigt u uit om de middag van 19 mei 2011 te reserveren voor een bezoek aan ons Event in het provinciehuis te ’s-Hertogenbosch.

Brabant Academy is een dynamisch platform/netwerk waar verrassende ontmoetingen ontstaan en uitdagende visies leiden tot nieuwe projecten en verbindingen. Brabant Academy Event brengt studenten, starters en professionals bij elkaar en combineert onderwijs, overheid en ondernemers.

Vanuit de aandachtsvelden ruimtelijke ordening, landschap, stedenbouw, architectuur en design richten wij ons op verbindende innovaties in culturele, maatschappelijke, economische en ruimtelijke ontwikkelingen.

PROGRAMMA

Onze middag staat in het teken van ‘Verbinden & Inspireren’ en het programma omvat de volgende belangrijkste onderdelen:

Drie inspirerende presentaties rond het thema ontwerpen met  trend-forecaster Zuzanna Skalska, onderzoeker van de publieke ruimte Vincent Wittenberg en social media goeroe Danny Brugman. Zij geven hun visie op de toekomst.

Vier workshops met de onderwerpen:  transformatie in de stad (Cees Donkers i.s.m. EDHV, Little Mountain, TWEELINK en UArchitects);  co-creation in ontwerpen (Frans Fransen); generaties in samenwerking (Aart Bontekoning) en de werking van social media (Danny Brugman). Vermeld uw keuze bij de aanmelding. Per workshop bedraagt het aantal deelnemers maximaal 50. Wees er dus snel bij.

De kennismarkt als platform om te netwerken en nieuwe allianties aan te gaan. Op de markt presenteren studenten, starters en professionals inspirerende projecten die in een initiatieffase verkeren of om doorontwikkeling vragen. U kunt zich opgeven voor deelname aan de markt bij aanmelding voor het Event op onze site. Voorwaarden voor deelname en de geboden faciliteiten worden u dan toegezonden.

Beide concerten worden door de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) aangeboden

in het kader van de viering van het 55-jarig bestaan.
De concerten zijn op de Markt in Eindhoven en publiek heeft gratis toegang.

Lustrumviering TU/e in de Catharinakerk.

Vrijdag 28 april is de Lustrumviering voor 55 jaar Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. Deze viering zal plaatsvinden in de Catharinakerk te Eindhoven en aanvangen om 15:30 uur.

Net als in 2006, toen de TU/e vijftig jaar bestond, worden er komend jaar, wanneer het elfde lustrum gevierd wordt, drie eredoctoraten toegekend. Prof. Rosalind Williams, hoogleraar Geschiedenis van de Techniek aan MIT, prof. Frank Kelly, hoogleraar Wiskunde voor Systemen aan de Universiteit van Cambridge, en prof. Silvio Aime, hoogleraar Biotechnologie aan de Universiteit van Turijn, worden tijdens de dies op 28 april 2011 gelauwerd.

Orkest Zuid verzorgt een stadsconcert op de Markt op woensdagavond 27 april vanaf 21.00 uur. Orkest Zuid met als dirigent Jos van de Braak brengt symfonische blaasmuziek op hoog niveau. Met Gerard van Maasakkers als solist presenteert dit orkest een populair programma met een Brabants tintje. Gerard van Maasakkers, een zanger met een eigen gezicht, zit al ruim dertig jaar in de muziek. Een bekroning op zijn werk is de Gouden Harp, de belangrijkste muziekprijs in ons land. Gerard nam deze prijs in maart 2009 uit handen van zijn Brabantse collega Guus Meeuwis in ontvangst.
