Inaugural lecture by Prof.dr.ir. Ines Lopez Arteaga
In engineering, acoustics connects seemingly unrelated worlds. Although engineered systems are very diverse (think of a toothbrush and a cruise ship, for example), noise generation is governed by the same basic principles and can be controlled by applying similar solutions. The challenges in engineering acoustics require knowing, understanding
and exploiting these common aspects in order to reach new findings. In her inaugural lecture, Ines Lopez Arteaga will describe these sound connections and discuss the implications for her research. Furthermore, she will share her passion for educational innovation and her views on the role of universities in a connected society.
Location: Blauwe Zaal, auditorium.
