EnergyDays - the need to change direction

Share Button

In two presentations by Floris Alkemade and Geert Verbong, the challenges of the energy transition will be discussed from a different point of view. Aspects, such as the impact that large scale deployment of renewable energy will have on our landscape and the societal protest this generates, ask for a systematic and coherent approach in which technological developments, societal innovations, regulatory measures and national direction on the choices to be made are taken into account.

Journalist Laila Frank discusses the undercurrents in the American society in a tumultuous election time.

Irakli Beridze, director of the UN Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, discusses cutting-edge research on AI and its applications in the justice system.

Both dystopian and utopian visions concerning the role of AI in the future are everywhere around us. AI has great potential in achieving tasks that will make the world a better place, but how will these increasingly powerful technologies be used? Who makes sure they are applied for good, and not evil? Irakli Beridze, Director of the United Nations (UNICRI) Centre for AI & Robotics, has been working with governments and stakeholders around the globe (such as INTERPOL) to address how AI and advanced technologies can help improve our security through enabling law enforcement, but also how users like criminals can utilize these technologies for malicious intent

EnergyDays - Sustainable Mobility & Transport

Share Button

In our efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions the transport and mobility sector stands out. In most sectors emissions are decreasing, but in transport they are still increasing. We still travel more and fly to more distant sites, and the global transport chains keep expanding. This makes the transition to a more sustainable mobility system a huge challenge. During this EnergyDays we will discuss different approaches and solutions to address this challenge.
